92 reasons to come to Off the Grid (give or take)

Apr 07, 2010

Only three days remain 'til Off the Grid, the inaugural annual GenWex mega-party (we like to think of it as the jump-off). That got us thinking of everything that's going on that night. Here it is, OTG by the numbers:

* Local soul outfit Nick Tolford and Company
* Three sets from Columbus's own DJ Detox
* 90 minute set by Chicago mash-up artists The Hood Internet (let's call that 1.5 hours)
* Food from 14 Dine Originals Columbus restaurants, including Tiramisu Panna Cotta "shooters" from Trattoria Roma, French country pate from The Refectory, gourmet mini s'mores from Due Amici, and much more
* Raffles for two airline tickets (they come in a pair!), two $100 Big Lots gift cards (they don't), and a $100 Wexner Center Store gift card
* A giant Pong game (we're counting that as two because of the controllers)
* A free photo booth (four, because there are four shots per sitting)
* Performance art vixens Anna and the Annadroids (five of ‘em)
* 36 host-committee members (and three sub-committees)
* We've been warming up (three pre-parties, two bar-crawls—if we're not ready by now…)
* A mixtape, to make sure that everyone's able to sing/dance along (8 tracks)
* Two cash bars
* The last chance to see the Hard Targets exhibition on the intersection between sport and art (four galleries)
* Video works by Rainer! (cameras, lights, projections, and gobos all over the place)
* Raising money for Wex education programs (they worked with tens of thousands of kids last year)

All that for only $40. But hurry: tickets are moving, and the price goes up to $50 day of event.
