Getting to Know: Toumani Diabate

Toumani Diabate is a well known figure in the world music circuit, being referred to as a "genius of the African scene" by The Guardian UK. But his influence and work in music stretches beyond that genre. For example, Bjork has announcement that Toumani will be performing on her new album (out in May) along with Timbaland and Lightning Bolt. Additionally, Diabate released Mali Music, a collaboration with Damon Albarn, known best as the man behind such critically acclaimed acts as Blur, Gorillaz, and The Good, The Bad and the Queen.
