On the evening of July 28, Columbus-based comic book artist and writer Jeff Smith received a Columbus City Council resolution in his honor. Cosponsored by Councilmembers Maryellen O'Shaughnessy and Priscilla Tyson, the resolution is in honor of Jeff's "commitment to independence and creative achievement." The resolution also points out and heralds Jeff's dedication to Columbus, his work at The Ohio State University, and his and Cartoon Books' influential work as an independent distributor of comic books. Smith, who is the subject of our exhibition Bone and Beyond (on view until August 3), was joined by family and Bone and Beyond's curators. Head over to our Flickr page to see photos from the event (and more are on the way, too).
