Martin Scorsese and a scene from My Country My Country

The 2007 Oscar nominations included some faces familiar to Wex filmgoers: Laura Poitras and Martin Scorsese. Poitras's powerful My Country, My Country, which screened here last fall with an introduction by Poitras, earned a nod for best documentary film. And Scorsese, the 1996-97 Wexner Prize recipient, was nominated for best director for The Departed, his gritty and barbed spin on 1930s-era Warner Brothers gangster pictures and the 2002 cult hit Infernal Affairs.
