Wexner Center releases iPhone app

Nov 21, 2010

There's another way to keep up-to-date on everything going on at the Wex. We're pleased to announce the launch of a new iPhone (and iPod Touch) app which offers one-stop mobile presence to the Wexner Center's event information (across all programming areas), visitor information, blog posts, podcasts, videos, and connection to our social media streams (Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, and more). The Wex app is downloadable for free at iTunes, in the App Store on your iPhone.

The app was developed in-house at the Wexner Center primarily by Alex Ford, a former student employee at the Wexner Center and a recent graduate of the Ohio State's Department of Industrial, Interior and Visual Communication Design. For Android or Blackberry users, for now, there is a mobile view of our site.

Thanks are due not only to Alex, but also James Walton in Ohio State's Office of the CIO, and Jim Burgoon and Ted Hattemer in Ohio State's University Communications office. It's one of the first "official" Ohio State apps released, and one of the only apps from a multidisciplinary contemporary art institution (not focused solely on an exhibition). Download it, rate it, and let us know what you think. Updates to this initial version are already in the works and we'd love your input.
