Nice to see two recent visitors to the Wexner Center, the folks from Old Trout Puppet Workshop and Feist (both hailing from Calgary), recently pooled their collective talents for a video for Feist's "Honey Honey." Old Trout delighted crowds with their Famous Puppet Death Scenes last year, as did Feist, to a packed Mershon Auditorium. Have a look:
While this sort of nonsense can still unfortunately happen on campus, perhaps it's very fortunate timing that Young Jean Lee's THE SHIPMENT is on campus this week to tackle issues of stereotype and the black experience in America. Post performance talks also happening each evening. Ohio State's student paper, The Lantern has a preview here. A Columbus Dispatch preview is here.
Christopher Bedford, left, with Wexner Center Senior Curator of Exhibitions, Catharina Manchanda, at the opening party for Andy Warhol: Other Voices, Other Rooms
As has been mentionedseveralplaces, Christopher Bedford is a new Exhibitions Curator at the Wexner Center, and this week marks his *official* start, and we couldn't be happier. (This only adds to our happiness since Senior Curator Catharina Manchanda began in July.) Huzzah! A hearty welcome to Christopher and his family as they acclimate from balmy Southern California to slightly less balmy and football-mad Columbus. And speaking of sport, here's a great review from The Washington Post of an exhibition, Hard Targets: Masculinity and Sport, which Christopher curated and is currently on view at LACMA.
