Bessa is director of curatorial and education programs at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, where he has organized exhibitions on contemporary artists Joan Semmel and Paulo Bruscky, among others

Ramírez, an adjunct curator at the Bronx Museum, was previously adjunct curator at El Museo del Barrio and curator of Taller Boricua Gallery in Manhattan. A personal friend of Martin Wong, she has published several essays on his work, including “Martin Wong: Chino Malo,” in Fresh Talk/Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art (University of California Press) and “La Vida: The Life and Writings of Miguel Piñero in the Art of Martin Wong,” in Sweet Oblivion (New Museum of Contemporary Art).
