The Box

As part of the Wexner Center’s 25th anniversary, The Box is dedicating the entire year of programming to work produced in the Film/Video Studio. Screenings in this free exhibition space for video, located just across from the Wexner Center Store, run continuously seven days a week, the same hours as our ticket office (Mon–Wed: 9 AM–6 PM; Thu–Fri: 9 AM–8 PM; Sat: 10 AM–8 PM; Sun: 11 AM–6 PM).

Sun, May 1, 2011Tue, May 31, 2011
Repeats every day until Tue May 31 2011.

Iranian filmmaker Pouran Esrafily offers this touching and very personal portrait of artist Louise Bourgeois, with whom she worked closely for over twenty years.

Stories from the artist's childhood, told by the Bourgeois herself, are intercut with images of her studio and home along with dream-like sequences. Together, they offer insight into the legendary sculptor’s life and work. (16 mins., 16mm film transferred to video)

This project was created with the support of the Film/Video Studio Program. Works by Bourgeois are currently featured in the exhibition Double Sexus in our galleries.
