Director Albertina Carri explores the dissappearance of her parents during Argentina's "dirty war" with innovative techniques. One of the most innovative films to come out of the exciting New Argentine Cinema movement, The Blonds bursts all conventional genres and expectations. Director Albertina Carri's parents disappeared during Argentinaís "dirty war" in the late seventies. She explores the way that event has affected the present through any artistic means at her disposal—including having an actress portray her adult self and recreating events and fantasies with Playmobil toys.
