"Wrenching and absorbing"
--A. O. Scott, New York Times.

Bus 174 is a haunting documentary dissection of an actual crime: a bus hijaking that transfixed Brazil in 2000.
"Wrenching and absorbing...a deceptively straightforward film that has the force of tragedy and the depth of first-rate investigative journalism"--A. O. Scott, New York Times.

From Brazil, Bus 174 is a haunting documentary dissection of an actual crime that took place in affluent district of Rio in 2000. In an attempt to rob several passengers, an anguished young man unwittingly takes an entire bus hostage. The film follows a nation transfixed as the ensuing drama unfolds on live television, drawing an incisive portrait of urban Brazil. (122 mins.)
