"A perfect movie for children...It glows with a kind of good-hearted purity."—Roger Ebert

The first Iranian film to earn an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, this uplifting, crowd-pleasing feature is a classic of 1990s' children's and world cinema. When young Ali loses his little sister's shoes, the two dream up a plan to share Ali's shoes in order to keep the loss a secret from their parents until they can come up with a solution. The film beautifully tells a simple story that is full of rich details about the lives of children and builds to a sublime footrace that will have audience members of all ages on the edge of their seats. Rated PG for some language. (89 mins., 35 mm)
