Classics

Many classic films are just as powerful today as when they were first released. We add such films from many genres to our schedule throughout the season. Many are shown on the occasion of their rereleases, in fresh, new or restored prints.

Based on a play originally staged in Columbus, Come Back stars Sandy Dennis, Cher, and Karen Black as members of a James Dean fan club who have assembled for a 20-year reunion of the production of Giant in 1955.

The film marked Robert Altman’s break with Hollywood and turn towards more independent filmmaking. (109 mins., 35mm)

Ed Graczyk, the author of the original play and Columbus resident, will join us for a Q & A after the screening. The play was first staged in Columbus.

Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean: Preservation funded by The Film Foundation and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
