With unsettling imagery, spectacular locations, and oblique references to mythology, biology, and American history, Cremaster 1 sets Barney's enigmatic film cycle into motion. Shot in Barney's hometown of Boise, Idaho, Cremaster 1 begins with a bizarre revue played out on the blue Astroturf of Bronco Stadium.

Busby Berkeley-like formations of chorus girls come together and dissolve based on orders dictated by a mysterious and androgynous figure, who simultaneously inhabits two Goodyear blimps hovering overhead. (40 mins.)

A separate ticket is required for each Cremaster film. Series packages are available to the general public for 25 dollars and to students and Wexner Center members for 15 dollars.
