Both a landmark feminist film and a key work of the Czech New Wave, Daisies follows two free-spirited young women as they embark on a series of rebellious pranks against men, war, clothes…and almost everything else in the world around them. The surreal film was banned by the Czech authorities and director Chytilová was banned from working in her country until the mid-1970s. (74 mins., 35mm)
