(2012)

Sept 1, 2013–Sept 30, 2013

The changing landscape of Dublin’s once-booming suburbs is the subject of Irish artist Dennis McNulty’s Interzone, made last year while he worked in residence in the Wexner Center’s Film/Video Studio Program. A menacingly alien soundtrack sets the tone for a series of long tracking shots that follow the path of a single woman and show an evolving landscape that shifts from suburban housing projects and retail complexes to swaths of unused rural land. McNulty introduces Interzone and a program of related videos on September 12 at 4:30 PM—see the Visiting Filmmakers section for details. (13 mins., video)

Interzone was commissioned by Fingal County Council in 2007 as part of a series of public artworks. It was finished with the support of the Wexner Center’s Film/Video Studio Program and is presented with support from Culture Ireland
