Zoom: Family Film Festival

Zoom continues for its 11th year with a fantastic assortment of acclaimed movies and entertaining events for all ages. One mission of Zoom has been to provide diverse and engrossing stories from around the world to central Ohio families. This year’s lineup is our most international yet with a film from each continent—a Zoom first! In addition to the great films, kids and families can enjoy fun and free activities together on Saturday, December 6, with our morning cereal and pajama party, hands-on crafts, and an ice cream social in the afternoon.

With his stop-motion animations made from household objects, PES (aka Adam Pesapane) makes the world around us feel like a place full of possibility and play. In a presentation sure to delight all ages, the filmmaker and digital artist visits to share many of his inventive short films and commercials and to talk about his creative process. Last year his 95-second-long Fresh Guacamole became the shortest film ever nominated for an Academy Award. PES is currently at work on creating a movie adaptation of the Garbage Pail Kids (from the notorious trading cards of the mid-1980s). (app. 80 mins., video)
