The Exorcist

(William Friedkin, 1973/2000)

wex grid image fill

Still one of the most effective and searing horror movies ever made, The Exorcist treats the supernatural with Friedkin’s trademark realism. It’s impossible to list all the now-iconic elements of the film—but they’d include the sophisticated soundtrack; the remarkable performances by Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, Linda Blair, and Jason Miller; the engrossing drama; and of course the jump-out-of-your-seat scares. We’ll be screening “The Version You've Never Seen,” released with added footage in 2000! (132 mins., 2K DCP)
