This evening we present archivist and filmmaker Serge Bromberg's painstaking restoration of A Trip to the Moon Trip (a famed short by Georges Méliès, the pioneering French filmmaker celebrated in Martin Scorsese’s Hugo) and The Extraordinary Voyage, Bromberg’s film about his decade-long project to restore Trip.

That restoration was one of the most complex restoration efforts ever. The Extraordinary Voyage includes interviews with Costa Gavras, Martin Scorsese, Michel Gondry, and others (60 mins, video). A Trip to the Moon features a soundtrack by the French group Air. (16 mins, video)

Unfortunately, Bromberg will not be introducing, as previously announced.
