In Fantastic Voyage, a defecting Russian scientist who has perfected a top-secret “miniaturization” program is nearly assassinated. To save his life (and to extract his secrets) a team of American scientists in a submarine are shrunk to microscopic size and injected into the Russian to remove the blood clot before he dies and they return to normal size. Starring Raquel Welch, Donald Pleasence, and Arthur Kennedy. Winner of Academy Awards for Art Direction and Special Effects. (100 mins., DCP)
