“When you’re filming a western, people don’t want to see the inside of a cabin.”—Anthony Mann

Jimmy Stewart is best known for his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, but he also starred in five ground-breaking westerns directed in the 1950s by Anthony Mann. In The Far Country, Stewart plays a self-interested cattleman driving his herd to Alaska only to find himself in the middle of violent factions in a lawless mining town. (97 mins., 35mm)

In The Man from Laramie, Stewart stars as a man bent on revenge against a gun runner whose goods were used by raiding Indians to kill his brother. (104 mins., 35mm)

The Man from Laramie begins at 8:50 PM.
