"Extraordinary, daring, breathtaking! Its pleasures and profundities expand the more I think about it."—Entertainment Weekly

One of the most enthusiastically received films at this year's Sundance Film Festival, The Future is acclaimed artist, author, and filmmaker Miranda July's follow-up to Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005). A thirty-something couple's decision to adopt a cat changes their perspective on life, literally altering the course of time and testing their faith in themselves and each other. The Future creates its own universe through July's wildly inventive, sweet, humorous, and poignant storytelling. (91 mins., video)

A former Wexner Center Residency Award recipient, July developed and presented the multimedia performance/video piece The Swan Tool here in 2001.
