"There might be five documentaries no American should be able to finish public school without seeing, and Hearts and Minds belongs on the docket."—Village Voice

Please note the location of this screening. Winner of the 1974 Academy Award for Best Documentary, Hearts and Minds is considered the definitive American documentary on the war in Vietnam. Director Peter Davis combined stock footage, news reports, and footage shot in war-torn Vietnam in his epic indictment of the American government's most divisive foreign policy decision of a generation. The Village Voice calls it "as much a prosecution of the present as it is of the recent past; only the names and geographies have been changed." (112 mins.)
