World-renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami makes his feature film debut with Jellyfish Eyes. The Pokémon-influenced coming-of-age story follows Masashi, a boy who moves to a sleepy town in the wake of an unnatural disaster only to discover that he and his new classmates can summon and control a menagerie of monster companions. This visual tour-de-force brings Murakami’s wildly imaginative, trademark creatures into a live-action setting kids will adore. In Japanese with English subtitles, read aloud. (101 mins., DCP)
