Jenny Deller visits to introduce Future Weather, her debut feature, which has been garnering praise and awards on the indie film fest circuit.

Inspired by a New Yorker article on global warming, Future Weather follows an environmentally conscious teenage girl (Perla Haney-Jardine) who must come to terms with her alcoholic grandmother (Amy Madigan) when her unstable mom abandons her. Her teacher (Lili Taylor) and their shared passion for science provide a welcome refuge for the girl. Writer/director Deller creates a highly original portrayal of women and their cross-generational relationships, using science and the environment as a backdrop. The film was selected for the Independent Film Project (IFP) Lab program in 2011. (100 mins., HDCAM)
