Jumps and Stunts
Zoom continues for its 11th year with a fantastic assortment of acclaimed movies and entertaining events for all ages. One mission of Zoom has been to provide diverse and engrossing stories from around the world to central Ohio families. This year’s lineup is our most international yet with a film from each continent—a Zoom first! In addition to the great films, kids and families can enjoy fun and free activities together on Saturday, December 6, with our morning cereal and pajama party, hands-on crafts, and an ice cream social in the afternoon.
One of the 2008 festival's highlights is sure to be JUMP!--an inspiring, dramatic, and entertaining documentary about competitive jump rope that is sure to make you forget whatever notions you have about this childhood pastime. Follow the link below to the film's web site to watch a trailer and find out more.
After the encore screening of JUMP! on Sunday, several of the featured jump ropers show their moves in a jump roping performance and interactive demonstration that is sure to leave you inspired, invigorated, and motivated. The featured jumpers are Tori Boggs from West Virginia, Nick Woodard and Jeff Maus from Texas, and Lee Reisig from Idaho.
Need a Break?
You'll find child-friendly menu items, soup, and Warhol specials from 11 AM to 4 PM at Cam's on Campus. And don't forget to visit the Wexner Center Store, for toys, gifts, and books for all ages.
The 2008 festival was organized by Chris Stults, assistant curator of film/video, and Dionne Custer, educator for school programs. If you would like to discuss the specifics of any film before viewing it with your child, please call Dionne Custer at (614) 292-7008.
