One of Chaplin's last two films, A King in New York, which features his final staring role, joins the hilarious classic The Circus for this screening.

A King in New York was shot in Britian, since Chaplin was barred from reentering the U.S. He plays an impoverished monarch trying to get back on his feet in Manhattan. A scathing portrait of American culture, targeting everything from the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) to Cinemascope to rock 'n' roll, the film was not released in the U.S. until the 1970s. A hit at this year's Zoom Family Film Festival, The Circus follows the Tramp as he becomes a big top star after his dash from the law is mistaken for a hilarious routine. (72 mins., 35mm) The Circus begins at 9 PM.
