La Camioneta, Kendall’s feature directorial debut, premiered at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival and marked him as “a name to watch”—Variety

Every day dozens of decommissioned school buses leave the United States on a southward migration that carries them to Guatemala, where they are repaired, repainted, and resurrected as the brightly colored camionetas that bring the vast majority of Guatemalans to work each day. La Camioneta follows one such bus on its journey. Its drivers worry about avoiding robbers while traveling through Mexico and about gangs demanding extortion money back in Guatemala until it finally reaches the place where its owner sees the bus as a means to a better life for his family.
