Based on the novel by Larry McMurtry, Peter Bogdanovich's first major feature is a brilliant study of life in a small Texas town in the 1950s.

Among the cast are Cybill Shepherd, Jeff Bridges, Ellen Burstyn, and Oscar winners Cloris Leachman and Ben Johnson. (125 mins.)
