examines the issue of suburban sprawl by focusing on how one Canadian family weighs the benefits (big houses at lower prices) with the costs (long commutes, strip mall aesthetics) of living in the "burbs." The results are at times hilarious and at others deeply troubling, as the filmmakers punctuate the family's story with commentary by urban planners, cultural critics, and contemporary philosophers.
