Octubre is a rich character study of a friendless man and the community around him. Clemente, a moneylender in a small Peruvian town, discovers a baby left on his doorstep.

To care for the child, he enlists the help of his neighbors and a new, unlikely family is formed. Full of complex, surprising characters, the debut feature of Diego and Daniel Vega won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. (83 mins., 35mm)

Cinema Latino is cosponsored by Hispanic Chamber of Columbus and Ohio State’s Center for Latin American Studies and Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
