"One of the most persuasive portraits of generational malaise--and tentative hope--to come from an American director in recent memory."--NEW YORK TIMES

Produced by Todd Haynes and starring indie musician Will Oldham (a.k.a. Bonnie Prince Billy), Kelly Reichardt's Old Joy is an artfully simple story of two low-key Oregonian pals who hope to renew their friendship by taking an impromptu retreat to the Cascade Mountains. The drive matters as much as the destination as the two pals smoke, listen to Air America, and ponder their life choices. Travis, a haunting short by filmmaker Kelly Reichardt, was postproduced at the center's Art and Tech facility and featured last fall in The Box. With Daniel London and music by Yo La Tengo. (73 mins., 35mm)
