Oriented

“A uniquely Middle Eastern spin on a classic coming-of-age tale.”—Variety

In collaboration with this year’s Columbus Jewish Film Festival, we’re pleased to present the Columbus premiere of Oriented. This inspiring and eye-opening documentary follows the lives of three gay Palestinian friends confronting both their national and sexual identities in Tel Aviv. They form an activist group, Qambuta, a nonviolent, cultural resistance movement fighting for gender and national equality. This intimate portrait gives a glimpse into a bold generation that’s shattering stereotypes about queer life in Israel. (86 mins., DCP)

Copresented with the Columbus Jewish Film Festival, Ohio State’s Melton Center for Jewish Studies, Leventhal Visiting Artists Fund, Columbus Jewish Foundation, Ohio State’s Film Studies Program, and OSU Hillel.
