This sci-fi classic is screened outdoors, Wex Drive-In style, as part of our festivities during Ohio State's Welcome Week.

New and returning students are especially invited to attend and can meet artist Mark Bradford, pick up a free T-shirt (while quantities last), enjoy free pizza, and more at the Student Party that starts at 7 PM. But all film fans are welcome to come by and enjoy the movie.

The original Planet of the Apes left four sequels, a television series, action figures, Tim Burton's remake, and more in its wake. Charlton Heston stars as an American astronaut who finds himself on the lowest rung of society on a planet ruled by simians. Only the unforgettable surprise ending could make matters worse for "Blue Eyes"! The film received an honorary Oscar for John Chambers's makeup work, and Jerry Goldsmith's influential score is regarded as one of the best ever. Based on the novel by Pierre Boulle, author of The Bridge on the River Kwai. (112 mins., 35mm)
