The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
Billy Wilder's 100th Birthday Billy Wilder, 1970

Many classic films are just as powerful today as when they were first released. We add such films from many genres to our schedule throughout the season. Many are shown on the occasion of their rereleases, in fresh, new or restored prints.

Celebrate director Billy Wilder's birthday with one of his most overlooked films.
Born 100 years ago today, Billy Wilder left us with some of the most hilarious (and darkest) comedies in film history, including Sunset Boulevard, Some Like It Hot, and The Apartment. To mark the occasion, we present The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, which stars British stage luminary Robert Stephens as the legendary detective. (125 mins., 35mm)
