Inspired by our popular Rare Baseball and Football programs, and to help get you ready for March Madness, we’re presenting our first Rare Basketball Films as the NCAA tournament gets into full swing. The program draws on newsreels from the Hearst Metrotone News Collection at the UCLA Film & Television Archive and features such past greats as Bill Russell, David Thompson, Jerry West, Ohio State great Jerry Lucas, Bob Cousy, Bill Walton, Elgin Baylor, and more! Following the films, join us for an onstage conversation with Ohio State great Bill Hosket Jr., who led the Buckeyes in scoring and rebounding for three consecutive years and played on the gold medal-winning 1968 US Olympic team, as well as the 1970 NBA champions, the New York Knicks. (approx. 120 mins., video)

Special thanks to the UCLA Film & Television Archive and Ohio State’s Department of Athletics for their assistance with this program. Promotional support provided by Ohio State's Department of Recreational Sports.
