Wex Drive-In

The Wexner Center brings the big screen outside for Wex Drive-In, our annual series of free, festive, open-air film screenings on the Wexner Center Plaza. All Drive-In movies start at dusk (generally around 9 PM), but you’re invited to come at 8 PM to choose your spot. Pack up a few blankets or lawn chairs, and get ready to enjoy beer from Seventh Son Brewing and wine from our cash bar, pizza from Mikey’s Late Night Slice, plus Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams (with a free scoop for members) and free Pam’s Market Popcorn.

A Summer Abroad: Cinema italiano

Most of us won't be sunning on the Amalfi coast or dining near the Trevi Fountain this summer, but this series helps you imagine a splendid Italian holiday. Made by Italian filmmakers and/or filmed in Italy, the selection of classics and new releases features such outstanding directors as Fellini, Visconti, and De Sica and spectacular scenery from Rome, Venice, and the Italian countryside.

Ticket Package
Save when you buy 10 tickets to use at any indoorCinema italianoscreening.
$60 general public
$40 members, students, and senior citizens

Starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn, this classic romantic comedy garnered an astonishing ten Academy Award nominations and was Hepburn's debut in a starring role.

Roman Holiday chronicles the European adventures of Princess Ann, played by Hepburn, as she abandons the crushing responsibilities of her regal duties to explore Rome on her own. While posing as "Anya Smith," she meets reporter Joe Bradley, played by Peck. The star-crossed pair fall in love as they explore the city together. The film is noted for its breathtaking views of landmarks in Rome, including the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, and the Trevi Fountain. (119 mins., 35mm)

In the event of rain, the Wex Drive-In will be postponed til the next day (Friday). If it's still raining, the film will screen in the Film/Video Theater at 9 PM (without accompanying refreshments).
