“Lustrous, effortless, entrancing, it infects your mood as happily as a hazy Roman afternoon.”—The Financial Times

In his warm and witty follow up to Mid-August Lunch (a sleeper hit at the Wex in 2010), writer-director-actor Gianni Di Gregorio has created another sparkling comedy—this time with a dash of the bittersweet. Di Gregorio charmingly plays a middle-aged retiree who finds himself invisible to the women around him, at least in regards to romance. Saddled with a demanding mother (played by Lunch’s marvelous nonagenarian actress Valeria de Franciscis) and envious of his other “codger” friends snaring beautiful younger women, Di Gregorio tries his polite, utterly gracious best to generate some kind of extracurricular love life—with both hilarious and poignant results.
