In The Soft Skin, a married literary critic (Jean Desailly) meets a young stewardess (Francoise Dorléac) on a Lisbon lecture tour and tries to continue the affair back in Paris despite the hurdles his daily life presents. Truffaut wanted to depict "a truly modern love affair, in planes and elevators, all the harassments of la vie quotidienne." (119 mins., 35mm)
