This ongoing collaborative project explores narrative in film as various collaborating artists respond to the same sound design.

To start the project, New York–based artists Melissa Dubbin and Aaron S. Davidson created a short sound design for an unrealized film scene The sound was then passed on to participating artists who created their own visual counterparts. The resulting works are as varied as the artists themselves, and Dubbin and Davidson keep inviting more artists to participate. Artists who have contributed to the project include Pierre Huyghe, Kate Gilmore, Christine Rebet, and Aideen Barry.

The new edition of Sound Design shown here includes work by Eve Sussman and also by former Art & Technology artists-in-residence Martí Anson, Marc Joseph Berg, Amy O'Neill, Lucy Raven, and Deborah Stratman. (video)
