Resnais explores a tumultuous moment of European history with Jean-Paul Belmondo as a 1930s swindler.

Based on the life of a small-time swindler whose deceits almost brought down the French government in 1933–34, Stavisky stars Jean-Paul Belmondo and features an original score by Stephen Sondheim. Also with Charles Boyer. (115 mins, 35mm)
