This evening features three projects with Edna Purviance, a frequent Chaplin costar, including, A Woman of Paris, a rare drama in which Chaplin himself barely appears.

In Sunnyside, Chaplin plays a handyman out to win Purviance's hand. (30 mins., 35mm) A Day's Pleasure follows the mishaps that befall husband Chaplin, wife Purviance, and child Jackie Coogan while on a family outing. (19 mins., 35mm)

In A Woman in Paris Purviance plays a woman who must choose between true love and the well-appointed life as a wealthy man's mistress. The film was atypical for Chaplin, as he doesn’t appear in the film except in an unrecognizable cameo. Its dramatic content was intended to help Purviance escape the typecasting caused by her appearance in so many films with the famed comedian. (82 mins., 35mm) A Woman of Paris begins at 8 PM.
