In Targets, Bogdanovich and Boris Karloff tell a tale of lives lost, minds unhinged, and an era of Hollywood gone by.

After apprenticing with Roger Corman on The Wild Angels, Bogdanovich was given the chance to write, produce, direct, and act in Targets, a stylish account of a story inspired by real-life mass murderer Charles Whitman. In a parallel tale, an aging horror-film star (played by Boris Karloff), ruminates on his own life. The film offers a thinly disguised homage to an era of Hollywood passing away along with the fading actor. An uncredited Samuel Fuller contributed to the script. (90 mins., 35mm)
