The third part of a trilogy including Where Is the Friend's Home (1987) and And Life Goes On (1992), Through the Olive Trees continues Kiarostami's exploration of the correlations between reality and fiction.

Olive Trees finds a film crew arriving in a small village recently devastated by a massive earthquake to shoot a film titled And Life Goes On. (102 mins.)
