The Trials of Henry Kissinger
Is Henry Kissinger a war criminal? This BBC documentary starts with that accusation, leveled by journalist Christopher Hitchens in his recent book The Trials of Henry Kissinger, and proceeds to examine historical events in Cambodia, Chile, and Indonesia, where Kissinger is accused of having "needlessly sacrificed human lives to achieve strategic goals" on a massive scale.
What makes the film timely is the worldwide movement to establish accountability via international law. Kissinger has been summoned to five different countries to answer questions on Chile alone.
With Christopher Hitchens, William Safire, Alexander Haig, Seymour Hirsch, Amy Goodman, and others. (80 mins.)
