Youth Division Showcase 2004

wex grid image fill

The new Youth Division of the Ohio Short Film/Video Showcase provides an opportunity for Ohio's young independent filmmakers to show their work under professional conditions.

Please note special start time. The works screened at each Ohio Short Film/Video Showcase each year vary in genre, tone, and production value, but all reflect the active media culture of the region. The event offers a welcome opportunity for filmmakers to show—and for audiences to see—such works under professional conditions. Each film is under 20 minutes long and produced in Ohio in the past 18 months.

New this year is the Youth Division for filmmakers 18 and under. Six prizes will be awarded to youth-produced videos screened at the showcase. The first place prize includes editing time and assistance in the Wexner Center's Art & Technology studio, which is equipped with AVID digital video editing systems.

After the Youth Division event, join filmmakers and friends for a free public reception from 5 to 7 pm. The over-18 showcase begins at 7 pm and is ticketed separately. Click here for more information.

The Youth Division of the Ohio Short Film/Video Showcase was organized by Wexner Center staff members Mike Olenick, Adelia Gregory, and Shelly Casto, as well as Columbus video artist Liv Gjestvang. (Program approx. 70 mins.)
