The lecture is followed by a screening of The Firecrosser (Mykhailo Illienko, 2012), the improbable tale of a war hero who is released from a Nazi prison camp, branded a traitor, sentenced to the Gulag, and eventually becomes a the leader of an Indian tribe in Canada (110 mins., video).

Cosponsorsed by Ohio State’s Department of History of Art, Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures, Center for Slavic and East European Studies, Film Studies Program, and the Wexner Center.
