Programs for Teachers

The Wexner Center offers workshops and resource materials for teachers to introduce issues in contemporary art and culture and to help you prepare your students for visits to the center. The center's exhibitions and building provide points of departure for in-depth workshops for teachers, as well as for public artists' talks, lectures, symposia, and other programs that may interest you.

You can also plan in-service workshops for your school, or sign up for graduate-level courses created in tandem with Wexner Center programs.

Watch this page for current and upcoming events especially for teachers and educators. Read more on the Additional Teacher Programs and Resources page.

Bringing Your Class for a Tour?

Are you bringing your class to Wexner Center exhibitions this winter or spring? Find useful background information developed especially for educators in our Teacher Resource Guide PDF for Hard Targets and the other exhibitions and projects on view through April 11. You can also learn more about each exhibition on its own web page. Find links to current and upcoming exhibitions here.

Pages: Art and Literacy

High School students participating in the Pages program visit the Wexner Center at least three times during the school year, experience visual arts, performing arts, and film projects, and develop their own responses in poetry, prose, and artwork. Applications are now being accepted for 2010-2011. Find out more about the program here.

Art & Environment

High school students in 11th and 12th grade from all over central Ohio are spending winter and spring 2010 exploring art and environmental issues and earning credit through their own schools in the half-year Art & Environment course at the Wexner Center. The students will show their projects in the Interventions exhibition at the center May 27 to June 1. Consider bringing your students to see the exhibition—the teen artists themselves give tours of the show to school groups—and think about students who might want to apply for the 2011 course. Find out more about the class on the Art & Environment blog. See the artwork the 2009 class created in our Flickr photo album.
