A behind the scenes Brazil photo! At the National Library in Rio, Wex curator Jennifer Lange got the extraordinary privilege of looking through the late photographer Alair Gomes' personal notes and journals. Because Gomes lived most of his life in Rio, it was a happy surprise to discover that he only wrote in English. So the main difficulty was deciphering Gomes' idiosyncratic handwriting.
