As Mine Exactly

(Charlie Shackleton, 2022)

Live virtual reality performance

Sold Out | Midwest Premiere

Five separate images of computer screens, one features a young blond boy, one is a list of files in a computer folder, one is a pile of colorful lego bricks, one is a woman with blonde curly hair leaning on her back and laughing, the final image is a living room with sunlight pouring through a sliding door window

In this singular, live virtual reality experience, director Charlie Shackleton presents a unique documentary for an audience of one—you.

In this intimate performance where you’re invited to don a VR headset and sit across the table from the director, Shackleton constructs a documentary that revisits his mother’s devastating and life-changing medical emergency. The filmmaker orchestrates archival fragments from that period while narrating in real time, creating a personalized documentary experience that’s never exactly the same.

Shackleton charmed audiences last May when he screened his 35mm print of The Afterlight, so we’re thrilled to welcome him back for this remarkable work. As Mine Exactly is limited to 28 performances during Unorthodocs, so act fast to secure your tickets. (30 mins., VR headset and speaker)

Please arrive at the High Street entrance to Mershon Auditorium with your ticket 5–10 minutes before the start time of your performance. You’ll be greeted by Wex staff and escorted to the event. If you haven’t printed out your ticket at home, please pick it up the Visitor Experience Desk just inside the Wexner Center’s main entrance.
