"A flash of brilliance."—New York Times

A major highlight of our dance season is this special evening planned with our partners at the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and BalletMet to bring the renowned American Ballet Theatre to Columbus.

With a program of exciting classic and contemporary work performed to live music played by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, this concert by ABT will be an evening to cherish for local dance lovers.

$5 tickets for teens (ages 13-18) are available through High 5 Tickets to the Arts. Click here for details. Among the featured pieces is workwithinwork, choreographed by Wexner Prizeñwinner William Forsythe, most recently artistic director of the Frankfurt Ballet and now the leader of his own Forsythe Company. The New York Times hailed ABT's debut of that piece as a "flash of brilliance" danced "with gusto and precision." You'll also thrill to Balanchine's classic Theme and Variations, with its virtuosic patterning and pas de deux set to Tchaikovsky. Sinfonietta, choreographed by Jiri Kylian (artistic director of the esteemed Nederlands Dans Theater) and danced to music by renowned Czech composer Leos Janacek, adds a bravura flair to the program.

Over three decades have passed since American Ballet Theatre last graced the stage of Mershon Auditorium. At this outstanding program you can join us in enthusiastically welcoming back one of the country's preeminent companies, whose consummate skill and verve make them a national treasure.

Presented by the Wexner Center and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra in association with BalletMet Columbus.
